Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JJ Kamahawe Ole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kamahawe Ole might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to E ala E by Israel . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, JJ Kamahawe Ole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Smith!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kamahawe Ole.

Kamahawe Ole on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Kamahawe Ole.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

It looks like Jake Smith has been cut.
Kamahawe Ole is trying to force a seperation but Smith has the dominant position.

Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Smith is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kamahawe Ole to keep the fight standing.

Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kamahawe Ole fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kamahawe Ole misses with a two punch combination.
Kamahawe Ole uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.
Smith shoots in but no luck this time.

and Kamahawe Ole counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
JJ Kamahawe Ole has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Smith.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

That was a close round but I would say that JJ Kamahawe Ole will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Smith is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kamahawe Ole lands with a hook. Smith tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Kamahawe Ole rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Smith closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kamahawe Ole's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith is working Kamahawe Ole over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kamahawe Ole escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Kamahawe Ole has wrist control.
Smith seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kamahawe Ole is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Kamahawe Ole eventually gives up the hold.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Kamahawe Ole is squirming around, avoiding Smith's attempts to control the action.
BOOM! Smith connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Smith fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Kamahawe Ole is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Smith is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kamahawe Ole can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
