Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julian Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nelson Hopper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Reis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nelson Hopper!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopper moves in looking to clinch but Reis pushes him off.
Hopper bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Reis's head.
Hopper is looking to clinch.

Reis shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hopper wants to improve his position but Reis is controlling well.
Hopper is trying to control but can't.

Reis is trying to work for a kimura but Hopper is defending well.
Hopper is looking for a sweep. Reis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Reis is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hopper sees it coming and defends easily.
Reis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hopper is trying to control but can't.

Hopper tries to kick Reis off but Reis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hopper trying to control from the bottom.
Reis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Reis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hopper tries to roll over but Reis keeps him under control.
Hopper is controlling Reis's trapped leg to prevent Reis from advancing to side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nelson Hopper.

Reis looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Hopper utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Reis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Reis prevents Hopper from getting back to his feet.
Hopper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Reis wants to control from the top but Hopper keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hopper wants to stand but Reis is controlling the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Reis controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hopper misses the shot to the body.
Hopper shoots in but no luck this time.
Hopper fails to land the takedown.
Julian Reis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nelson Hopper.
Reis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hopper.


It looks like Nelson Hopper has been cut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice defenses there by Reis.
Hopper gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Reis to counter with a crisp jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hopper shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reis but Reis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hopper is nestled in close to Reis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hopper looking to sit in guard and control but Reis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hopper tries to buck Reis off but Reis is having none of it.
Hopper is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Reis asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Hopper wants to work for an arm triangle but Reis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Reis manages to get to full guard.

Reis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hopper can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hopper sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Reis's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nelson Hopper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Reis throws an overhand right that lands on Hopper's shoulder, as Hopper tries to avoid the shot.

Hopper is squirming around, avoiding Reis's attempts to control the action.

Well Reis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
