Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Sabre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin O Neill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Neill has chosen Sing for the moment - Eminem as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Sabre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 2, fighting out of New York, Martin O Neill!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabre works the jab nicely.
The fighters circling - Sabre throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sabre lands with a kick to the ribs.

Sabre has O Neill up against the cage in a clinch.
Sabre lands an elbow inside.
Sabre's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Sabre tries a body shot but O Neill blocks it.
O Neill wants to break the clinch but can't.

Sabre working aggressively here.
Sabre has O Neill pressed against the cage, preventing O Neill from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
O Neill is trying to break the clinch but Sabre is controlling him.
Sabre tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Sabre lands an elbow that stopped O Neill in his tracks for a moment.

Sabre escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sabre tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but O Neill paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sabre shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


It looks like Matt Sabre has been cut.
O Neill looks to score with a jab to the body but Sabre is just out of range.
Sabre throws a hook but O Neill avoids it easily.
O Neill throws a solid leg kick but Sabre takes the impact on his shin and smiles at O Neill.
Sabre keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Martin O Neill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sabre wants to clinch up but O Neill keeps it at a distance.
O Neill throws out a loose jab but Sabre uses good head movement to avoid it.

O Neill slips a jab from Sabre.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
O Neill swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Sabre connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
O Neill keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
O Neill shoots for a takedown but Sabre saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
O Neill falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sabre counters with a good low kick that O Neill was not able to check.
Sabre throws a sloppy head kick and O Neill moves out of range easily.
Sabre smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
O Neill doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sabre counters with a good low kick that O Neill was not able to check.

O Neill moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sabre cracks O Neill with an open hand slap.
Sabre fails in his attempt to clinch.
O Neill misses with a left hand
and Sabre counters with a right hand to the body.
O Neill throws a jab when Sabre was well out of range.
O Neill uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sabre.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sabre throws a hook but O Neill blocks it.
O Neill tries for a takedown but Sabre circles away easily
and Sabre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Matt Sabre's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sabre tries to clinch but O Neill moves out of range.

Sabre misses with a few strikes there.
Sabre is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Nice defenses there by Sabre.
Sloppy strikes from Sabre. Those never looked like landing.
O Neill throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sabre sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and O Neill counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Sabre throws a leg kick but O Neill sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Sabre tries to score with a low kick but O Neill moves his leg out of the way.
O Neill looks to land a combination but Sabre avoids it well.
O Neill uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sabre.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from O Neill lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sabre has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sabre and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Matt Sabre is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
O Neill misses with a hook
and Sabre counters with a left and a right that stings O Neill.

Horrible takedown by O Neill or perhaps it was just good defense by Sabre which made him look bad.
Sabre lands a straight punch to the body, keeping O Neill at a distance.
An inside leg kick lands from Sabre.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
O Neill is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sabre.
O Neill throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sabre on the side of the head.
Sabre tries to clinch but fails miserably
and O Neill cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sabre comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
O Neill missing with a left hand there. Sabre was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

O Neill looks to land a right hand but Sabre moved out of range.
Sabre throws a head kick that misses.
Sabre takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
O Neill throws a hook but Sabre avoids it easily.
Sabre lands a nice shot that snaps O Neill's head back.
O Neill uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sabre.
O Neill thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sabre swings for the body but O Neill moves out of range.

Sabre takes a swing at O Neill's ribcage but misses.
Sabre throws a body punch but O Neill moves out of range.
O Neill misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sabre.

and Sabre counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Sabre connects with the punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
O Neill swings for the body but Sabre moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sabre bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
O Neill shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sabre sprawls well. Sabre wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. O Neill gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

O Neill throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
O Neill dodges an elbow strike from Sabre.
Sabre keeps the fight in the clinch, despite O Neill's efforts to push away.

O Neill wants to get back to striking at distance but Sabre won't allow it.
O Neill has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Sabre tried to land a shot to the body but connects with O Neill's elbow.

The referee is keeping an eye on Sabre - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
O Neill wants to break free but Sabre has control.

Matt Sabre is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Sabre digs a right hand into O Neill's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on O Neill's gas tank.
O Neill is trying to force a seperation but Sabre has the dominant position.
O Neill wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sabre has him pressed against the cage.

O Neill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A big right from O Neill misses.
O Neill walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sabre throws a right hand that O Neill ducks under and follows up with a left that O Neill also avoids with ease.
O Neill falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sabre counters with a nice body shot.

And that's the end of the fight!
Matt Sabre showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Sabre has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
