Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimi Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimi Carter!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingston misses with a few strikes there.
Carter tries for a takedown but Kingston sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
No joy there for Kingston, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carter swings for the body but Kingston moves out of range.
Kingston throws a nice looking combination but Carter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Carter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kingston throws out the jab.

so Carter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kingston bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carter's guard.

Carter pushes Kingston off and scrambles back to his feet.

Carter misses with a low kick as Kingston jumps back.
Kingston throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kingston throws a right and a left that Carter avoids nicely.
Carter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kingston as he jumps to the side.
Kingston throws a series of punches but Carter moves out of range.

Kingston gets tackled into the cage by Carter. Carter maintains the clinch.

Carter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Carter drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kingston is looking to stand up but Carter isn't so interested in that idea.

Carter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Carter passes Kingston's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Carter is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Carter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kingston escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Carter shoots in and drives through. Kingston sprawls well.
Nate Kingston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimi Carter.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jimi Carter hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kingston slaps away a takedown attempt from Carter, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Carter tries to lock up and control but Kingston gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kingston is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Carter has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Carter!

Kingston working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kingston is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Carter wants to control from the top but Kingston keeps moving.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nate Kingston.
I think Carter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
