The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Bruto wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Bruto moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Bruto is trying to control Silva's posture but Silva avoids it.

Silva decides to stand back up. Silva steps back and let's Bruto get back to his feet.

Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bruto keeps working.

Bruto is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Silva is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bruto has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bruto has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bruto tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bruto to the ground. Bruto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Silva controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Bruto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bruto manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silva manages to get himself to full guard.

Bruto is working Silva over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Bruto utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bruto is on top in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bruto just trying to survive but Silva is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Bruto turns into Silva and is now in his guard.
Bruto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Despite being in the dominant position, Clase Bruto just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bruto counters with a low kick, right behind Silva 's knee.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rampage Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rampage Silva will probably get the nod.

so Bruto counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Silva on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Silva tries to get out of the position.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bruto is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bruto's back instead.
Silva is trying to stick to Bruto's back but Bruto is turning into Silva. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Silva's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bruto.

Bruto drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Bruto off! Bruto jumps back into Silva's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Silva gets caught flat footed, as Bruto shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Bruto drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bruto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
