PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Totally Stink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheer Bum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Totally Stink!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sheer Bum!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bum shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Stink pushes Bum off looking to stand but Bum dives back in and keeps control.
Stink is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bum's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bum's back!
Oooh a big shot gets through from Stink. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Stink has Bum flattened out and is raining down punches.
Bum staying busy and making it hard for Stink to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stink looking to break Bum's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Bum remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Stink will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Stink is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Bum defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bum is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from Stink 's hooks.
Bum is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Stink breaks from Bum's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Bum is squirming around, avoiding Stink's attempts to control the action.
Bum is wriggling around trying to escape.
Stink controlling his opponent.

Stink goes for an armbar but Bum turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Bum.
Bum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stink swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stink is pulling down on Bum's head to control his posture.
Stink looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Stink isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bum stacks Stink on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bum!
Stink is trying to improve his position.
Stink sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Bum is looking to take a break and control but Stink is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bum is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Bum looks gassed!

Stink works his way to full guard. Good work.
Stink wants to sweep but no luck.
Bum won't allow Stink to get back to his feet.
Bum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stink swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stink keeping moving, preventing Bum from controlling successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stink is trying to control the position but Bum postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Stink's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A head kick from Bum lands but Stink takes it in his stride.

Stink fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bum sprawls well initially but Stink persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Stink decides to return to a standing position.
Stink throws a head kick but Bum moves out of range.
Bum tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stink swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Stink closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bum drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stink gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Bum is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Stink to keep the fight standing.
Stink managing to block the knees to the body from Bum.
Bum changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stink fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Totally Stink has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sheer Bum.

Stink shoots in and bounces Bum off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bum controls Stink momentarily but Stink frees himself.

Bum is working an open guard so Stink takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Stink rushes Bum and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Bum prevents Stink from getting back to his feet.
Stink looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Bum got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stink has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bum has managed to get both his arms back between Stink's legs - danger averted.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Totally Stink overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bum won't allow Stink to sweep him here.
Stink looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stink pushes Bum off and scrambles back to his feet.

Stink throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bum was covering up waiting for the punch and Stink finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Stink stops Bum from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Stink stands up and waves to Bum to follow him.

Stink decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Stink has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stink controlling the position easily from mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bum is bucking up trying to escape but Stink cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Totally Stink dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Stink shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bum napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Stink decides to stand back up. Stink steps back and let's Bum get back to his feet.
Stink uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bum.

Stink shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bum's guard.

Bum takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Stink wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bum keeps working.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Totally Stink.

Stink feints and as Bum raises his hands in defense, Stink changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stink sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Stink seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bum for as long as he can get away with.
Stink's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Bum thows an elbow strike that misses. Stink gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Bum doesn't seem too bothered but Stink quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Bum is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Bum really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
