Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pedro Penduko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kremlin Dusk! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dusk lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Pedro Penduko has been cut. Penduko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dusk avoids it really well and circles away. Dusk lands with a nice combination. Penduko backs away looking to recover. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Penduko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dusk pinned against the cage. Dusk gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dusk scores with a jab to the body. Penduko takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Penduko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dusk circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Penduko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Penduko gets a double leg takedown into Dusk's guard. Penduko is breathing heavily. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Dusk wants to sweep but no luck. Dusk trying to keep a closed guard but Penduko is proving a slippery customer.
Penduko throws a big elbow that misses. Dusk is trying to keep Penduko in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penduko drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dusk manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Penduko has Dusk in his guard. Dusk wants to pass the guard but Penduko is keeping the position. Dusk trying to control but Penduko is working from the bottom. Dusk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Penduko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Penduko has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Dusk should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Penduko has tightened it up now! Dusk should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
