Barreras's entrance music is Hellshock - Walking Death. A fine choice. Kersikov has chosen Skillet - Awake and Alive as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Samuel Barreras!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marko Kersikov!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barreras closes the distance and pushes Kersikov back into the cage.
Kersikov avoids a wild elbow strike from Barreras.
Barreras misses with an elbow over the top.
Barreras is trying to break the clinch but Kersikov has him pressed against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Barreras.

Kersikov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kersikov throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Barreras counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Barreras lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Barreras breaks the clinch.
Kersikov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Kersikov catches Barreras with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Barreras tries to clinch but Kersikov moves out of range.
Kersikov thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Barreras if he has to take too many more of those.
Kersikov throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Barreras tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kersikov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Barreras misses with a kick to the body
letting Kersikov counter with a right hand.
Barreras goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Barreras moves into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Kersikov's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Barreras lands an elbow inside that Kersikov shrugs off.
Kersikov tries to throw a body punch but Barreras avoids it by throwing Kersikov back against the cage.
Kersikov digs a right hand into Barreras's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Barreras's gas tank.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barreras throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Barreras tries to break the clinch but Kersikov is controlling the position.
Kersikov lands a body punch.
Barreras is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Barreras missing with knees to the body.
Barreras jumps guard but Kersikov stands there with Barreras around his waist. Barreras gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kersikov pushes Barreras back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Barreras looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Barreras pushes off an throws an elbow but Kersikov leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Barreras breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kersikov lands a lovely overhand right.

Barreras tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kersikov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Barreras avoids a punch combination nicely.

Kersikov steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Barreras. That one must have hurt.
Kersikov misses with a hook.
Barreras wants to clinch.
Barreras takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Barreras fails with an attempt to clinch.
Samuel Barreras seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barreras darts in and clinches Kersikov up against the cage.

Barreras's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Kersikov counters with a nice low kick that buckles Barreras's knee momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Barreras gets a clinch.
Barreras is trying to break the clinch but Kersikov has him pressed against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kersikov lands a right hand that snaps the head of Barreras backwards.
Kersikov lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Kersikov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barreras tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Barreras throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kersikov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kersikov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barreras.

and Barreras counters with a body kick that stops Kersikov in his tracks momentarily.
Barreras throws a leg kick but Kersikov moved away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marko Kersikov dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kersikov cracks Barreras with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Barreras ducks under a wild hook from Kersikov.
Barreras dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kersikov. That did some damage!

Kersikov misses with a straight right.
Barreras is looking to clinch but Kersikov is avoiding it.
Kersikov tries to land a leg kick but Barreras saw it coming and moves away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kersikov cracks Barreras with a nice body shot.
Kersikov digs a right hand into Barreras's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Barreras's gas tank.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kersikov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Barreras thumps Kersikov with a low kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barreras tries to land a body kick

and Kersikov counters with a nice right hand that sends Barreras toppling to the canvas! Barreras scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kersikov finish him?!
Oh Barreras is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Barreras stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kersikov.
Barreras throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Barreras seems to have got his legs back now.
Barreras scores with a spinning back kick!

Kersikov circles away from the clinch attempt
and Kersikov makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Kersikov cracks Barreras with a hook to the temple - Barreras is on wobbly legs here! Kersikov swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Barreras falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Kersikov wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Marko Kersikov!
Our winner, Marko Kersikov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
