The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ben looking to score a takedown here. Smiths is defending well but Ben drives through and ends up in Smiths's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Smiths has his foot on Ben's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ben works his way back into a safe position though.

Smiths had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ben defends it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ben is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Smiths has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ben is looking to defend but Smiths has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ben! Smiths pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ben taps out and this one is all over!
