Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abraham Lincoln (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abraham Lincoln had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 172.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Wayne Lucas will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas looks to land a combination but Lincoln avoids it well.
Lucas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Lincoln paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lucas shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Lincoln displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lucas.
Lincoln tries to clinch up but Lucas circles away and keeps his distance.

Lucas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lincoln was covering up waiting for the punch and Lucas finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Lucas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lincoln's guard.

Wayne Lucas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lucas doesn't manage to clinch there - Lincoln circles away.

Lucas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Lincoln is squirming around, avoiding Lucas's attempts to control the action.
Lucas pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Lucas goes for an armbar but Lincoln turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Lincoln.

Lucas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lincoln doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lincoln manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lucas will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Lincoln up against the ropes.
Lucas is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

In his post fight interview, Wayne Lucas started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
