The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rook fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Adams closes the distance but Rook moves to the side

and Rook counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Adams's guard now.
Rook sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Adams's guard.
Adams is looking to control Rook's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Adams avoid being mounted?
Adams is looking to improve his position.
Adams is trying to stand back up but Rook is controlling him
Ground and pound from Rook.
Adams slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Rook decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Adams, up you get!

Adams tries to keep at a distance but Rook has taken the fight into the clinch.

Adams pulls Rook into guard.
Rook wants to pass the guard but Adams is keeping the position.
Rook sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Rook drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Adams dives on top into guard.
Rook working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Adams.

Rook tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rook has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Adams should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Rook has tightened it up now! Adams should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

A determined Hayden Rook didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
