Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lutz Knitter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Pirozhkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Lutz Knitter has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Lutz Knitter seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lutz Knitter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Arthur Pirozhkov!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knitter tries to clinch but Pirozhkov moves out of range.

Pirozhkov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pirozhkov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Knitter tries to hold on but Pirozhkov pushes him away.
Knitter is trying to escape the mount.
Knitter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Knitter working to try and regain half guard.
Pirozhkov looking to control and managing it successfully.
Knitter is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pirozhkov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Knitter is looking to escape.
Knitter is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pirozhkov trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Pirozhkov looking to secure an arm triangle but Knitter defends it well.

Pirozhkov has control of Knitter's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Knitter regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pirozhkov moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Knitter has worked his arm free - good work by Knitter!
Knitter is trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Knitter managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Pirozhkov.
Knitter is trying to control Pirozhkov's posture but Pirozhkov avoids it.
Pirozhkov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pirozhkov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Knitter keeps working.
Knitter wants to control but Pirozhkov postures up.
Knitter is looking to regain half guard here but Pirozhkov keeps moving and retains side control.
Knitter is not content to let Pirozhkov control the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pirozhkov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pirozhkov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Knitter tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pirozhkov postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Pirozhkov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Knitter manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Knitter tries to get to full guard but Pirozhkov has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pirozhkov seems to be looking for submissions.

Pirozhkov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Pirozhkov is working for a kimura but Knitter is defending it quite comfortably.
Knitter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pirozhkov trying to control from half guard but Knitter is working away.

Pirozhkov is working for a kimura here but Knitter manages to reverse the position and he's now in Pirozhkov's guard.
Knitter trying to control the position from guard on top but Pirozhkov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Knitter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Pirozhkov is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Knitter rolls with it to try and escape but Pirozhkov cranks on the arm and Knitter is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Arthur Pirozhkov!
Arthur Pirozhkov is the new bantamweight champion!
