Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jesse Mortensson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Veli Peikko!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mortensson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Peikko won't allow Mortensson to pass to mount.
Mortensson trying to control from half guard but Peikko is working away.
Mortensson is pressing down on Peikko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Peikko is holding on for now.
Mortensson winds up and cracks Peikko with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Mortensson is looking to take a break and control but Peikko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Mortensson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peikko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Peikko manages to capitalize on a mistake by Mortensson to take his back!

Mortensson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peikko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Peikko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mortensson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peikko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mortensson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Peikko is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mortensson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Peikko's back instead.

Mortensson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Peikko's face.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Peikko looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Mortensson! Submission of the night perhaps?
