Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xiao Long Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lawrence Trainor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Li might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dragon Punch!. Trainor is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Trainor is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Li lands a leg kick that knocks Trainor off balance momentarily.
A head kick misses from Li.
Trainor checks a leg kick nicely.
Li throws a body punch but Trainor moves out of range.
Nice body punch from Li.
Trainor keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Trainor closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Li did well to prevent Trainor getting side control.
Trainor wants to stand but Li has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Trainor wants to control but Li is keeping him busy.

Trainor is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Trainor is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Li sees it coming and defends easily.

Trainor has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Li is proving hard to escape from.

Li throws a low kick, looking for Trainor's leg but Trainor calmly moves out of range.
Li fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Trainor checks it well.
Li throws a sloppy head kick and Trainor moves out of range easily.

Li wants to slow Trainor down by chopping away at his legs.

Li throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Trainor counters with a big head kick but Li shrugs it off.
Trainor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Li is fending him off so far but Trainor persists. Nope, Li circles away and we're back to standing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Trainor looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Trainor's corner calls for a 1-2. Trainor obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Li throws a sloppy head kick
and Trainor counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Trainor changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Li looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Trainor stands up.
Li just misses with a punch to the body.

and Li counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Trainor is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Trainor tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Trainor fails with the takedown.
Trainor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Trainor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Li's head.
Trainor looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Li with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Li is looking to control Trainor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Li avoid being mounted?

Trainor works over Li with some ground and pound from guard.
Trainor avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Trainor. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Li throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Trainor escapes and throws Li's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Li is not content to let Trainor control the position.

and Trainor counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Trainor stands and steps away. Li gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Li throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Trainor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Li.
Xiao Long Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Trainor tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Trainor throws a head kick that misses
and Li counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Li throws a big shot that misses.
Trainor wants to clinch.

and Trainor holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Li obliges.
Li goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Trainor tries to land a knee to the head but Li blocks with his arms.
Trainor misses with a knee strike.
Li lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Li lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Trainor backwards.

Xiao Long Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lawrence Trainor.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Trainor creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Trainor throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Li blocks it with crossed arms.

Lawrence Trainor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Trainor ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Trainor no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Trainor wants to sweep but no luck.
Trainor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Li gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
