Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rolo Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bay Area (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rolo Reese has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rolo Reese!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bay Area!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Area misses with a looping right.
Area scores with a one two! Reese had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Rolo Reese has been cut.
Area scores with a jab.
Reese blocks a low kick nicely.
A combination from Reese does no damage.
Area throws a shot from downtown. Reese moves away and avoids it.
Reese ducks right into an uppercut from Area.
A nice combination there by Reese.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Reese tries for a takedown but Area sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Reese tries to clinch but Area is having none of it.
Area throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Reese throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Area.
Reese takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Area wants to slow Reese down by chopping away at his legs.
A swing and a miss from Area.
Bay Area seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Area throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Area tries a head kick but it misses.

Reese takes the fight into the clinch.
Area is looking to control Reese's arms but Reese gets an underhook and turns him. Now Area has his back to the cage.

Reese jumps guard and drags Area to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reese is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Reese is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Reese is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Area sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Reese's guard.
Reese wants to get back to full guard.

Reese looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Area not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Area wants to stand up but Reese has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Area is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Reese reverses the position - he's now on top in Area's guard.

Reese being controlled here momentarily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Area can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reese looking to pass the guard.

Reese is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Area utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Area controls Reese momentarily but Reese frees himself.
Area might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Reese kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Reese stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Area looks to throw the jab but Reese is out of range.

Area throws a right hand that Reese ducks under and follows up with a left that Reese also avoids with ease.
Area stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Area lands a head kick. Reese smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Reese moves out of range of the leg kick from Area.
Area will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Area misses with a lunging right hand
and Reese counters with a nice uppercut.
Area looks to throw the jab but Reese is out of range.
Area throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Area throws an off balance right hand
and Reese counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Area is lucky that one didn't land flush.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Area throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Reese fails to land with a series of punches.
Reese throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Reese tries a head kick but it misses.
Reese throws a front kick aimed at Area's knee but Area avoids it well.
Area looks to land a right hand but Reese moved out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Area works the jab nicely.
Danga de danga de dang - Reese scores with a four punch combination!
Area missing with a left hand there. Reese was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Reese lands a jab to the nose.
Area misses with a double jab
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Reese moves out of range as Area throws a body kick.
Reese uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Area.

Reese gets a takedown into half guard.

Reese is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Reese is looking for a kimura here.
Area wants to control but Reese is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bay Area will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Rolo Reese's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Area misses with a body kick.
Reese with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Area to score with a decent uppercut.
Area falls off balance throwing a combination
and Reese counters with a big head kick but Area shrugs it off.
Reese lands a nice shot to the body.
Reese takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Reese dodges the punch combination from Area.
Area lands a body shot.
Area lands a nice hook to Reese's body. Reese takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Area scores with a crisp jab that stopped Reese in his tracks.

Reese moves into range and clinches up with Area.
Reese tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Area smiles and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Area pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Reese instigates a clinch.
Reese tries to score a body lock takedown but Area shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Area misses with some punches.

Reese pulls guard successfully.
Reese working a defensive guard here.
Area throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Area trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Area wants to control from the top but Reese keeps moving.
Area must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Area is fighting to break Reese's control of his arms but Reese is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Reese not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rolo Reese just wasn't active enough.
Reese just misses with a punch to the body.
Bay Area seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Area misses with a wild body shot.
Rolo Reese is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Area lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Reese moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Area turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Area lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Reese has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Area finds it's way round the side to connect with Reese's head.
Area just misses with a punch to the body.
Reese takes one to the side of the head.
A combination from Area does no damage.
Area throws a head kick that misses

and Reese counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Reese advances to half guard.
Area is trying to get back to full guard.
Area trying to get back to full guard but Reese takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Area is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Area tries to lock up and control but Reese gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Area is squirming around, avoiding Reese's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reese quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Reese but it's paid off an Area is forced to tap! Nice work by Reese.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rolo Reese!
A relieved looking Rolo Reese thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
