Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chad Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Velcrow Mercades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mercades has chosen The Baddest- Krispy Kreme as his entrance music. Velcrow Mercades will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Velcrow Mercades!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercades throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Mercades tries a low kick but Mendes avoids it.
Mendes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Mercades.
No luck for Mendes with that takedown attempt.
Velcrow Mercades seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mercades displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mendes.
Mercades throws a right and a left that Mendes avoids nicely.
Mercades misses the shot to the body.
Mercades tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mendes scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Mendes is looking for a kimura but Mercades is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mendes to get the leverage.
Mercades is looking for a sweep. Mendes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mendes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mercades doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mendes.
Mendes is trying to work for a kimura but Mercades is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mendes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mercades manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mendes has Mercades in his guard.
Mendes is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mercades rolls with it to try and escape but Mendes cranks on the arm and Mercades is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
