The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higa's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Williams connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Higa scrambles back to his feet.
Williams thuds his right hand into Higa's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Williams scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Williams misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Higa sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Higa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Williams wants to control from the top but Higa keeps moving.
Williams wants to stand but Higa has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Williams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Higa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Williams has managed to get both his arms back between Higa's legs - danger averted.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Higa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.

Higa postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Williams keeping moving, preventing Higa from controlling successfully.
Williams is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Higa wanted to stand there but Williams had control of the position.
Higa is fighting to break Williams's control of his arms but Williams is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams wants to get back to his feet but Higa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Higa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Williams swivels and escapes.

Williams misses with a few strikes there.
Williams throws a right hand that Higa ducks under and follows up with a left that Higa also avoids with ease.
Williams dips to his left and cracks Higa with an uppercut!
Higa shoots in looking for a takedown but Williams manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Higa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Higa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Higa gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Williams postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Williams throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Higa colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Williams as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Higa is left battered and dazed whilst Williams and his camp cheer!
