PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between El Loco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Bruso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruso has chosen Helena as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, El Loco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Bruso!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Loco tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bruso swats him away and circles back towards the center.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bruso sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Loco is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Loco tries to buck Bruso off but Bruso is having none of it.

You can see the frustration on Loco's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Loco pushes Bruso away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bruso gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That was a close round but I would say that El Loco will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
