Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Whitmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franco Konson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Konson has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Franco Konson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Whitmore throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Konson was covering up waiting for the punch and Whitmore finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Konson looks gassed!

That has opened up Franco Konson's cut even more.
Konson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Whitmore stands up from Konson's guard - Whitmore perhaps looking for a knockout.

Whitmore is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Konson's half guard.

Whitmore is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Konson has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
