Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Lange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlyle Thor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lange looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thor is fending him off so far but Lange persists. Nope, Thor circles away and we're back to standing.
Thor shoots for a takedown but Lange saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Lange shoots in and gets a takedown into Thor's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Thor keeping moving, preventing Lange from controlling successfully.
Lange would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Lange might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lange knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thor on the ground.
Lange distracts Thor with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Lange shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Thor gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Thor jumps guard and drags Lange to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Thor has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lange shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thor as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Lange. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lange misses with a takedown attempt - Thor sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Thor avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Thor rushes Lange and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Thor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lange tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thor paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lange gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Thor holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Lange tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Thor smiles and moves away.
Thor takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Thor misses with a takedown attempt - Lange sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Thor shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lange sprawls well. Lange wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thor gets slowly back to his feet.

Thor gets a double leg takedown into Lange's guard.
Thor looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thor is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Thor is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Carlyle Thor will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Horrible takedown by Lange or perhaps it was just good defense by Thor which made him look bad.
Lange tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Lange shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Thor gets full guard.

Lange has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Thor pulls Lange in close to prevent any damage.
Thor preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Lange looking to sit in guard and control but Thor gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Lange is looking to stand back up but Thor counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lange.

Lange pushes Thor off looking to stand but Thor dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thor stands up from half guard.
Thor tries for a takedown but Lange sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ted Lange is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lange tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lange somewhat.

Lange throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Thor was covering up waiting for the punch and Lange finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lange is posturing up here but Thor has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Lange tries to roll out but it's too tight and Lange has to tap! Slick submission there by Thor!
