Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Riel Dan Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and McGillicuddy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Riel Dan Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, McGillicuddy Jones!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Reyes staying out of range there.
Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Reyes throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Reyes fails with a takedown attempt.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Reyes goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones looks to land a right hand but Reyes moved out of range.
Reyes throws an off balance right hand
and Jones counters with a straight right hand.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick misses from Jones.
A jab from Jones does it's job there.

Reyes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Reyes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reyes connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.
Reyes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones tries to stand but Reyes is controlling from the bottom.
Reyes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Reyes tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Riel Dan Reyes has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Reyes thuds a left hand into Jones's body.
Jones scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
A decent looking cross lands there for Jones.
Reyes misses the body punch
and Jones counters with an inside leg kick.

Jones looks to land a right hand but Reyes moved out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones throws a lazy right hand but Reyes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Reyes shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Reyes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jones thuds his right hand into Reyes's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Reyes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.

Reyes closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Reyes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Reyes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Reyes.
Reyes is looking to wear down Jones with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
