PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Pearce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pearce has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Danny Doherty could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Fred Pearce's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Doherty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Pearce!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doherty tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pearce swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pearce looks gassed!
Pearce dives in and grabs Doherty's left leg, looking for a takedown. Doherty pushes down on Pearce's head and hops out.
Pearce fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Doherty closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Doherty breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pearce has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Doherty.
Pearce takes one to the chin there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Doherty throws a head kick that misses.
Pearce takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Doherty scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Doherty throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fight stays on the outside here - Doherty looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Doherty throws a quick inside leg kick.
Doherty fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pearce has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A looping hook to the body misses from Doherty. Pearce does a little dance to reset his feet.

Doherty cracks Pearce with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Doherty has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Pearce to stand back up!

Pearce is rocked!
Pearce is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Doherty doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Pearce crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Pearce's bad books for that mishap!
