PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Brit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Dylan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brit comes into the arena with Same in the End blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Brit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Dylan!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dylan scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Dylan throws a low kick, looking for Brit's leg but Brit calmly moves out of range.
Dylan throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Brit checks a leg kick.
Dylan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brit sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dylan somewhat.
Good leg kick by Brit there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Brit throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

and Brit counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Dylan shoots in looking for a takedown but Brit manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dylan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Jimmy Brit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Dylan.

Brit throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Brit gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Dylan.
Dylan looks to throw the jab but Brit is out of range.
Brit uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dylan.
Brit tries to land a leg kick but Dylan saw it coming and moves away.
A bone on bone clash there as Brit blocks the leg kick.

Dylan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Brit to the ground. Dylan is now in Brit's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Brit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dylan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dylan feints and as Brit raises his hands in defense, Dylan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dylan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Brit escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dylan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Brit looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Dylan has picked Brit up and slammed him! Brit can't keep hold of the triangle and Dylan manages to pass to side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brit can't do much from the bottom here.
Dylan is looking to take a break and control but Brit is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dylan tries to move to mount but Brit blocks the move with his legs.
Brit tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dylan tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Brit tries to buck Dylan off but Dylan is having none of it.

Brit manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Brit tries to roll over but Dylan keeps him under control.

Dylan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Brit is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Dylan is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Brit sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Brit wants to control but Dylan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dylan is looking to stall here but Brit recovers full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Daniel Dylan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Dylan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dylan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Brit tries to hold on but Dylan pushes him away.
Brit can't escape the position.

Dylan fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dylan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dylan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dylan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Brit!

Dylan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Brit is on top in guard.
Brit connects with a couple of short punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Brit postures up in Dylan's guard and throws a big left but Dylan blocks it.

Daniel Dylan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dylan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
