Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jambo Alvez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alpha Male (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alpha Male acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Male tries to score with a low kick but Alvez moves his leg out of the way.
Alvez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Alvez.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Male pushes Alvez away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alvez gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Alvez throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Male works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Alvez is stalling here. Male is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Alvez seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Male has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Male stands up and beckons Alvez to his feet.

It looks like Jambo Alvez has been cut.
Male swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Male keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Male lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Alvez circles away quickly and effectively.
Male misses with a series of wild punches.

Male looks to land a combination but Alvez avoids it well.

Alvez shoots for a double leg takedown but Male sprawls well. He's pushed Alvez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Alvez can't find room to land a body shot as Male controls the action.
Male is pressed up against the cage. Alvez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Male down to the mat. Male avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jambo Alvez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Alvez gets tackled into the cage by Male. Male maintains the clinch.
Male swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Alvez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Male's efforts to push away.
Alvez tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Male's elbow.

Still in the clinch, Male scores with a nice short uppercut.
Male is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alvez is trying to drag Male to the mat but Male just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Male misses with a hook to the ribs.
A left hand lands to the body for Alvez.
Alvez tries to work over Male's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Alvez lands an uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Male pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Alvez keeps the fight on the outside.
Alvez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Alvez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Male circles away quickly and effectively.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alvez throws a front kick aimed at Male's knee but Male avoids it well.
Male tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alvez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Male has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Alvez finds it's way round the side to connect with Male's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alpha Male dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jambo Alvez's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Alvez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Male is fending him off so far but Alvez persists. Nope, Male circles away and we're back to standing.
Alvez lands a jab to Male's midsection.
Male fails with an attempt to clinch.
Alvez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Male sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alvez somewhat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jambo Alvez.
