Winter is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by ICE COLD. Jack Winter has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dave Houses's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Winter!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Winter. That snapped Houses's head back.
Houses tries to clinch but Winter moves out of range.
Winter connects with a good right hand that stumbles Houses. Houses circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Houses scores with a jab. Winter acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Houses tries to score a power double leg takedown but Winter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Houses somewhat.

Houses dives in and scores a takedown into Winter's guard.
Houses wants to control from the top but Winter keeps moving.
Winter seems keen to control Houses's posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Houses stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Winter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Dave Houses wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Houses shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Winter sprawls well. Winter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Houses gets slowly back to his feet.
Winter throws a shot from downtown. Houses moves away and avoids it.

Houses fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Winter sprawls well initially but Houses persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Houses escapes and gets back to his feet.
Houses shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Winter counters with a left and a right that stings Houses.

Winter uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Winter fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Winter ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fight stays on the outside here - Houses looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jack Winter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Houses tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Houses has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Houses there as he acknowledges the shot.
Houses shoots in and drives through. Winter sprawls well.
Houses swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Houses really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Winter counters with a stiff right hand.

Houses dodges the punch combination from Winter.
A shot to the liver by Winter. Beautiful body shot.
Donk. Winter catches Houses right on the button with a cross.
Winter leaves Houses with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Houses misses with the combination.
Winter connects with a looping right hand.


Houses is rocked!
Houses shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Winter as he avoids it easily.
Houses swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Houses tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Winter swivels and escapes.
Houses is breathing heavily.

Winter lands a nice shot to the body.
Winter sizes up Houses with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Oh Houses is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Winter is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Houses had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Winter avoids the head kick by Houses.
Winter digs a good body shot into Houses's ribs.

Houses scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Houses wants to stand but Winter has his arm trapped.

Houses is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Winter knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Houses seems to have got his legs back now.
Houses wants to lay and pray for a moment but Winter keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dave Houses will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Houses counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Winter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Houses. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Houses slows the pace down in half guard.
Houses tries to stand and escape but Winter is controlling the position.
Houses seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Winter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Winter changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Houses scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Houses wants to free his trapped foot but Winter is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Still in half guard, Houses seems content to control.
Dave Houses overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Houses is trying to control. Winter wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Houses in particular looking to stall.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Houses fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Winter avoids it really well and circles away.
Winter lands with an overhand left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dave Houses will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Winter drops Houses with a naaaaasty hook - Houses is in real trouble here! Winter dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Winter!
