Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan De Pury!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Calahan!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Pury clinches up with Calahan and pushes him back against the cage.

De Pury breaks from the clinch.

De Pury shoots in and bounces Calahan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Calahan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Calahan keeping moving, preventing De Pury from controlling successfully.
De Pury is really struggling to control Calahan but he's trying to hold on to the position.

De Pury stands up from guard. Let's bang!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Calahan.

De Pury has taken the fight to the clinch.
Calahan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. De Pury fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Calahan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Calahan shoots in looking for a takedown. De Pury tries to sprawl out of it but Calahan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. De Pury manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ryan De Pury has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Calahan.

De Pury throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Calahan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. De Pury is in Calahan's guard.

Calahan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Pury. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

De Pury has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Calahan is trying to keep an underhook but De Pury manages to get the takedown into half guard.
De Pury not landing any meaningful shots this time.
De Pury has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
De Pury seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
De Pury keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

We're going to have a standup here because Ryan De Pury wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
De Pury fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Calahan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

De Pury closes the distance and clinches.

De Pury has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Calahan regains guard immediately.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

It looks like Mark Calahan has been cut.

and De Pury counters with a takedown into side control.

De Pury decides to stand up, so the ref orders Calahan to his feet.
De Pury connects with a solid leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

De Pury shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Calahan is trying to defend but De Pury finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

De Pury is landing with some decent strikes but Calahan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Calahan can do anything to dispel that myth.
De Pury wants to control the pace but Calahan is squirming around nicely.

De Pury is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
De Pury looks to land a combination. Calahan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
De Pury has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Calahan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

De Pury has clasped his hands together around Calahan's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
De Pury remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

De Pury lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Calahan down.

De Pury wants to lay and pray for a moment but Calahan keeps working.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ryan De Pury overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Calahan tries to reverse the position but De Pury maintains control.
Calahan seems to have recovered his senses.
De Pury will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

De Pury has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!



De Pury closes the distance looking for a takedown. Calahan stuffs it but De Pury still has hold of him. De Pury picks Calahan up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. De Pury slams Calahan to the floor and that's really hurt Calahan - he doesn't know where he is! De Pury throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan De Pury!
