PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Gaffigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Byron Mondella (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gaffigan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to All In. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Byron Mondella!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaffigan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mondella misses with a takedown

and Gaffigan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mondella won't be happy with that.

You can see the frustration on Mondella's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mondella is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Gaffigan is staying active.

Gaffigan shoots in looking for a takedown. Mondella tries to sprawl out of it but Gaffigan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mondella manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mondella closes the distance and clinches up with Gaffigan, looking for a takedown. Mondella pushes Gaffigan against the cage but Gaffigan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mondella changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gaffigan tries to avoid it but Mondella manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gaffigan to the ground. Gaffigan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
