The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cheiroso is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cheiroso lands a leg kick that knocks Santiago off balance momentarily.
Santiago on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cheiroso. Cheiroso obviously looking to wear him down.
Santiago looks gassed!
Cheiroso misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Cheiroso clinches up against the cage.

Cheiroso pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Cheiroso, right into the meat.
Santiago takes a kick to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cheiroso lands a nice looking kick to the body. Santiago takes a step back to recover.
Cheiroso tries a head kick but it misses.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Cheiroso! Santiago is out on his feet! Cheiroso rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Santiago is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Santiago is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
