Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Cooperman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Druff!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooperman lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Dan Druff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Druff throws a combination that misses
and Cooperman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Druff fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Druff keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Druff has a takedown stuffed.
Druff shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cooperman defends it nicely.
John Cooperman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Druff.
Cooperman takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Druff lands a really nice looking cross but Cooperman seems unphased.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cooperman thuds a left hand into Druff's body.
Druff shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cooperman sprawls well. Cooperman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Druff gets slowly back to his feet.
Druff takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cooperman connects with a jab.
No luck for Druff with that takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Cooperman as Druff shoots in.
Cooperman cracks Druff with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Cooperman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cooperman slaps away a takedown attempt from Druff, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Druff avoids a punch combination nicely.
Druff with a lazy takedown attempt
and Cooperman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Cooperman connects with a jab.
Druff changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cooperman tries to avoid it but Druff manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cooperman to the ground. Cooperman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Druff uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Druff fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cooperman sprawls well initially but Druff persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Cooperman wants to get back to his feet.

Druff is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Druff has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Cooperman defend it? Druff steps over the head and cranks it - Cooperman is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Druff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dan Druff!
An out of breath Dan Druff thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
