Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vammie Weruke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weruke is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Waking the Demon - Bullet For My Valentine. Vammie Weruke is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vammie Weruke!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mason has Weruke up against the cage in a clinch.

Mason breaks the clinch.
Mason closes the distance looking to clinch

and Weruke counters with a crisp one two that drops Mason! Weruke thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Mason to his feet! Mason is in big trouble!

Mason is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mason throws a right and a left that both miss.
Oh Mason is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Weruke connects with the punch.
Weruke keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Weruke is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Weruke clinches up with Mason and pushes him back against the cage.
Mason wants to break the clinch but can't.
Weruke misses with a hook from the clinch.
Mason tries to work over Weruke's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Mason manages to break the clinch.
Mason misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mason seems to have got his legs back now.
Mason walks into a left hand.
Weruke drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Mason right on the button. Mason goes down! Weruke follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Weruke gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vammie Weruke!
