The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grace bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Grace fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thompson manages to avoid it.
Grace throws a jab when Thompson was well out of range.
Thompson misses with a straight left.
Grace has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Grace there as he acknowledges the shot.
Grace swings for the body but Thompson moves out of range.
Jet Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Grace is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thompson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Grace.

Grace is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thompson is just riding it out for now. Grace eventually gives up the hold.

Grace is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Thompson defends it well.

Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch but Grace swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Grace is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Thompson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Thompson!
Thompson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Grace escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thompson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Grace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thompson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
