Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jumar March (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jumar March has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jumar March!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leon Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz swats away the attempt to clinch by March.
March could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Cruz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
March tries to close the distance and clinch but Cruz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
March shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cruz but Cruz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
March shoots in looking for a takedown but Cruz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing March's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
March misses with a few strikes there.
March misses with a double jab.

March clinches up against the cage.
Cruz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cruz drops down looking for an ankle pick but March pulls his leg out and moves away.
March shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cruz as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jumar March. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cruz on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
March fails to land the takedown.
Cruz circles away from the clinch attempt.

Cruz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cruz wants it to stay on the feet.

March gets a clinch.
March just leaning against Cruz, taking a breather.
March jumps guard but Cruz stands there with March around his waist. March gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Cruz is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables March to keep the fight standing.

Cruz is pressed up against the cage. March has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cruz down to the mat. Cruz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
March shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cruz pinned against the cage. Cruz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
March pulls out of a head kick attempt.

March takes the fight into the clinch.
March tries for a takedown. No joy.

March escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A combination from March does no damage.
Cruz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

March closes the distance but Cruz moves to the side

and Cruz counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cruz.

Cruz tightens his grip and picks March up, before dumping him to the ground. March manages to land in guard.
March is pulling down on Cruz's head to control his posture.

Cruz got a little sloppy there for a moment and March has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cruz has managed to get both his arms back between March's legs - danger averted.
March wants to sweep here but Cruz controlling him for the moment.

Cruz works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Cruz trying to control the action but March is working from the bottom.

Cruz blocks the strikes from March.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

March is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cruz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
March shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cruz as he jumps to the side.

Cruz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cruz lands in his opponent's guard.
Cruz tries to free his leg and advance position but March is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

March throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Cruz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Cruz wants to control from the top but March keeps moving.
March is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jumar March will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

March shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Cruz eats them both and turns towards March to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The fight stays on the outside here - March looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Cruz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

March tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jumar March is winning the standup battle so far.
Good leg kick by March there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
March avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cruz tries to land a front kick but March steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
March shoots in looking for a takedown. Cruz tries to sprawl out of it but March keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cruz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Cruz shoots in for a takedown but March shows good takedown defense.
Cruz leaves March with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Cruz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. March manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
March might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
March looking to control.
Cruz throws a big elbow that misses.
Cruz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cruz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on March, up you get!

March wants to hold on but Cruz pushes him away.

Cruz is going oldschool here, as he tries to force March to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so March shrugs it off.
March wants to get back to his feet.
March is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Leon Cruz has got the better of the ground game so far.
March wants to control but Cruz is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
March is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cruz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Cruz is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Cruz!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Leon Cruz!
A relieved looking Leon Cruz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
