Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yuri Sichev!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John throws a head kick that misses.
John looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
John misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sichev shoots in but John avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sichev has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by John.
Sichev misses with a double jab.
John tries a head kick but it misses.
Sichev shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. John eats them both and turns towards Sichev to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
John fails to land with a series of punches.
Oliver John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
John lands a head kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sichev shoots in looking for a takedown. John tries to sprawl out of it but Sichev keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. John manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
John throws a right hand that Sichev ducks under and follows up with a left that Sichev also avoids with ease.

Sichev scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
John really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sichev prevents John from escaping the position.
John trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Sichev connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused John some visible discomfort.

Sichev is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but John is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
John tries to escape but Sichev is in control.

Sichev is trying to get an arm triangle but John is defending well.
Sichev has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sichev is chipping away with strikes.

John explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
John throws a head kick but Sichev moves out of range.

Sichev drives through with a takedown into guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
John is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sichev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
John wants to stand and escape but Sichev is having none of it.

Sichev postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

John has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sichev off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
John lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
John misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
John misses with a wild combination.

Sichev closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sichev tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
John dodges the ground and pound from Sichev.

Sichev stands up.
John shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sichev eats them both and turns towards John to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Sichev is rocked!

John drops Sichev with a naaaaasty hook - Sichev is in real trouble here! John dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
