Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Buchanan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thor Hightower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thor Hightower!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hightower swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Buchanan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Buchanan misses the shot to the body.
Buchanan connects with a body shot that sends Hightower's belly button to the back.
Hightower takes a body punch but keeps moving.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hightower checks a leg kick.
Buchanan attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Buchanan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Buchanan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hightower is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hightower is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Buchanan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Buchanan has hold of Hightower's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hightower manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Hightower is looking to improve his position but Buchanan isn't that keen on the idea.

Buchanan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hightower can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Buchanan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hightower is looking to escape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Buchanan has control of Hightower's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hightower regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Hightower is bucking up trying to escape but Buchanan cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Hightower is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Buchanan cracks Hightower with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hightower wants to hold on but Buchanan pushes him away.

Buchanan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Buchanan quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Buchanan but it's paid off an Hightower is forced to tap! Nice work by Buchanan.
