PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaer Emilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Raymore Ardonia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Ardonia.

Emilson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ardonia was covering up waiting for the punch and Emilson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Emilson gets to his feet. Ardonia looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ardonia tries to bum rush Emilson with a series of wild strikes but Emilson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ardonia stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ardonia wants it to stay on the feet.
Ardonia misses with a wild body shot.
Emilson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ardonia is fending him off so far but Emilson persists. Nope, Ardonia circles away and we're back to standing.
Emilson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaer Emilson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ardonia just misses with a punch to the body.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ardonia enables Emilson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ardonia manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ardonia can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Emilson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Emilson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ardonia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Emilson slips a jab and a cross from Ardonia.
Ardonia throws a jab but it's blocked by Emilson.
Emilson throws out a loose jab but Ardonia uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ardonia throws a right and a left that both miss.
Emilson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Emilson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ardonia's waist but Ardonia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Emilson off to one side.

and Emilson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Emilson misses with a takedown attempt - Ardonia sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

It looks like Jaer Emilson has been cut.
Emilson is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ardonia lands a left and a right that send Emilson crashing to the mat, dazed. Ardonia thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Emilson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ardonia fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Ardonia throws a nice looking combination but Emilson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ardonia blocks a head kick by Emilson.
Ardonia throws a series of strikes that have Emilson backpedaling.

Ardonia throws a body punch but Emilson moves out of range.

Ardonia feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Emilson sprawling to the canvas! Emilson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ardonia finish him?!

Emilson is rocked!
Ardonia is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Emilson rather than just go for the knockout.

Oh Emilson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ardonia circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Emilson to the canvas! Emilson doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Ardonia keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
