Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Tanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manson Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wright is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Distillers - Drain the Blood. Dick Tanner could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Manson Wright's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Tanner pulls Wright in close to prevent any damage.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Wright has eaten all the pies!
Tanner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Wright won't allow Tanner to sweep him here.
Tanner keeping moving, preventing Wright from controlling successfully.
Wright stands up and waves to Tanner to follow him.
Tanner moves in looking to clinch but Wright pushes him off.
Tanner takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Wright lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Wright.
Wright closes the distance and clinches.
Tanner tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tanner misses with a punch to the body.
Tanner tries to score a body lock takedown but Wright shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Tanner fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dick Tanner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wright lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tanner is staying active underneath Wright, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Tanner is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Wright pulls his head out easily.

Tanner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wright wants to stand but Tanner has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Wright closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tanner to the mat! Tanner manages to get full guard.

Wright really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tanner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tanner wants to sweep but no luck.

Wright stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tanner swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Wright wanted to stand there but Tanner had control of the position.
Wright is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Wright wants to get up but he can't break Tanner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Tanner manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
