Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Maher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Artur Szpilka!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maher cracks Szpilka with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


It looks like Artur Szpilka has been cut.
Szpilka looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Szpilka fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maher, pushing him back against the cage.
Maher is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Szpilka tries for a takedown. No joy.
Maher wants to break free but Szpilka has control.
Maher wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Maher gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Szpilka.
Szpilka keeps control of Maher as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Szpilka is working for takedown but Maher is calmly controlling the position for now.
David Maher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Artur Szpilka.
Maher wants to break the clinch but can't.
Szpilka has Maher pressed against the cage, preventing Maher from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Maher wants to get back to striking at distance but Szpilka won't allow it.
Maher throws a head punch that misses.

Szpilka lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Maher has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Szpilka escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Szpilka!
Maher prevents Szpilka from improving position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maher is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Szpilka asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Szpilka looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Maher is avoiding damage well.
Maher wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Szpilka working away.
Maher is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Maher is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Szpilka off and has taken his back!

Szpilka is trying to defend against the choke here but Maher has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Maher Tightens the hold and Szpilka taps out furiously! Maher displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
