Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyson Gauge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Alvin Joiner!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joiner throws a leg kick but Gauge sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Joiner swats away the attempt to clinch by Gauge.
Joiner looks to land a right hand but Gauge moved out of range.
Joiner throws a leg kick that misses.
Gauge misses the shot to the body.
Gauge tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Joiner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gauge tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Joiner avoids the head kick by Gauge.
Joiner lands a right hook to the body.
Gauge turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Joiner manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gauge on his heels. He'll look to pass Gauge's guard now, I'm sure.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Gauge wants to stand up but Joiner is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Joiner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gauge's head.
Joiner passes into half guard.
Joiner not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Gauge is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Joiner lands with a punch from half guard.
Joiner missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Joiner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Joiner passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gauge!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Joiner throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Gauge because Joiner loaded up on that one.
Joiner controlling from mount.
Joiner unloads with some shots from mount but Gauge bucks and avoids them well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Joiner lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
You get the feeling that Gauge really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Joiner throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Gauge because Joiner loaded up on that one.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Joiner thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Joiner content just to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joiner throwing strikes here but Gauge is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Gauge is trying desperately to improve position.
Joiner lands a nice shot to the head.
Joiner scoring with strikes but Gauge is staying in there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Joiner trying to control but Gauge is having none of it.
Joiner thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Joiner fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Gauge tries to hold on but Joiner postures up.
Gauge is wriggling around trying to escape.
Joiner breaks from Gauge's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gauge is rocked!
Joiner softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Gauge is out cold! Joiner jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alvin Joiner!
A very excited looking Alvin Joiner made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
