The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myklebust tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kruger was well out of range. Poor timing from Myklebust.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kruger, right into the meat.
Kruger throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kruger throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Myklebust.
Kruger throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kruger leaves Myklebust with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Myklebust goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Kruger works over Myklebust's head and body with a nice combination.
Kruger avoids the body shot from Myklebust.
Kruger pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Myklebust back to the cage. Kruger follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Kruger fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Myklebust.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kruger scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Myklebust doesn't seem bothered though.

Kruger lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Kruger connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Myklebust takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kruger throws a right and a left that both miss.

Myklebust dives in and scores a takedown into Kruger's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Myklebust is looking to work some ground and pound but Kruger has wrist control.
Myklebust advances to half guard.
Myklebust looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Myklebust not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Myklebust sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kruger's guard.
Myklebust is trying to control the action in half guard but Kruger is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kruger won't allow Myklebust to pass to mount.
Kruger regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Myklebust.
Myklebust wants to control from the top but Kruger keeps moving.
Myklebust stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kruger swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Myklebust accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Myklebust throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kruger because Myklebust loaded up on that one.
Myklebust has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kruger tries to buck Myklebust off so he can stand up but Myklebust has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Kruger falls backwards, slamming Myklebust to the mat but Myklebust holds on tight! Kruger is forced to tap and this one is all over!
