Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ned Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hattori Chiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ned Alonso is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ned Alonso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hattori Chiba!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alonso closes the distance and clinches.
Chiba wants to take the fight to the mat but Alonso manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Chiba prevents the takedown attempt.
A frustrated look appears on Alonso's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Alonso lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Chiba has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Alonso is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Chiba shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alonso defends it nicely.
Ned Alonso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hattori Chiba.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alonso accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Chiba has momentary wrist control but Alonso slips an elbow through the middle.

Chiba is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Alonso is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Alonso manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Alonso takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Alonso postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Chiba looks a forlorn figure.

Chiba has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alonso is working away from the top position though.
Alonso throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Chiba to regain full guard.
Alonso wants to control from the top but Chiba keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Alonso seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Chiba for as long as he can get away with.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Alonso fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
