The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pires tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tuphuria sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pires somewhat.
Tuphuria looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Pires shoots and misses
and Tuphuria counters with a one-two to the body.
Pires is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tuphuria sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
George Tuphuria has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leonard Pires.
Pires fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tuphuria avoids it really well and circles away.
Tuphuria gets caught flat footed, as Pires shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Pires advances to half guard.
Pires has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Tuphuria defend it? Pires steps over the head and cranks it - Tuphuria is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Pires!
