Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Augusto Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Augusto Soto!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soto avoids the head kick by Steel.
Steel misses with a takedown attempt
and Soto counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Steel shoots in looking for a takedown but Soto manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Steel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Steel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Steel wants it to stay on the feet.
Soto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Steel has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Soto.
Soto scores with a jab. Steel acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Steel shoots in and drives through. Soto sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Steel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Steel thows a body shot but no joy.

Soto darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Soto lands a really nice looking cross but Steel seems unphased.

Soto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Steel throws an overhand right that lands on Soto's shoulder, as Soto tries to avoid the shot.
Soto has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Steel.

Soto throws a head kick that misses.
Soto has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Soto throws a front kick that sends Steel stumbling back into the cage.
Soto ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Soto buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Soto connects with a body shot that sends Steel's belly button to the back.
Steel cracks Soto with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Steel takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Soto shoots in and drives through. Steel sprawls well.
A looping hook to the body misses from Steel. Soto does a little dance to reset his feet.

Steel shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Soto defends it nicely.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Steel. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Soto lands a leg kick that knocks Steel off balance momentarily.
Soto's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Soto duly obliges.


It looks like Chuck Steel has been cut.

Soto fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Steel has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Donk. Soto catches Steel right on the button with a cross.

and Soto counters with a good low kick that Steel was not able to check.
Soto throws a front kick that sends Steel stumbling back into the cage.

Soto dives in and scores a takedown into Steel's guard.
Steel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Soto is stalling in the full guard.
It looks like Soto might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Soto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Steel takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Steel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Soto throws a shot to the body.
Steel is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Soto moves into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Steel's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Soto throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Steels head.
Soto lands a right hand.

Soto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Soto closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Steel is looking to reverse the position.
Steel manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Soto has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Steel is working away from the top position though.

Soto is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Steel's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Steel's back!
Soto has the hooks in. Steel is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Soto lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Steel hold on?!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steel rolls, trying to escape but Soto keeps control of the position.

Soto breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No joy there for Soto, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Soto misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Steel.
Steel throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Soto.
Steel takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
A bone on bone clash there as Soto blocks the leg kick.

Soto closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Steel did well to prevent Soto getting side control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Soto connects with a nice short shot to Steel's temple.
Steel pushes Soto off looking to stand but Soto dives back in and keeps control.

Augusto Soto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Soto has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
