Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Laputa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is No more Shadows for the Past- NARNIA. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Renzo Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Laputa wants to slow Machida down by chopping away at his legs.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Machida.
Machida lands a nice shot that snaps Laputa's head back.

It looks like Kirk Laputa has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Machida throws a nice head kick!

Laputa ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Laputa lands an elbow that stopped Machida in his tracks for a moment.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Machida using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Laputa has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Machida pushes Laputa back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Machida on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Machida breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That kick from Machida tenderised Laputa's leg. Laputa is trying to keep his angry face on.
Machida throws a sloppy head kick and Laputa moves out of range easily.
A swing and a miss from Laputa.
Machida just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice defenses there by Laputa.
Laputa cracks the inside of Machida's front leg.
Machida avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Laputa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A looping hook to the body misses from Laputa. Machida does a little dance to reset his feet.

Laputa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Machida blocks a head kick by Laputa.
Machida swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Laputa.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Laputa, right into the meat.
Laputa throws a head kick that misses.
Machida turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Machida connects with an inside leg kick.
Laputa looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Laputa scores with a jab to the jaw.
Laputa looks to throw the jab but Machida is out of range.
Laputa thows a left - swing and a miss!
Laputa misses with an uppercut
and Machida counters with a slapping leg kick.
Machida on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Machida sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Laputa to the ground! Machida dives into full mount looking to finish!

That has opened up Kirk Laputa's cut even more.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Machida controlling his opponent.
Machida avoids the attempt from Laputa to control.

Laputa is squirming around, avoiding Machida's attempts to control the action.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Laputa is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Renzo Machida dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kirk Laputa's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Laputa lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Laputa takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Machida feints and then cracks Laputa's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Laputa down.
Laputa fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Machida has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Machida here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Laputa catches Machida with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Machida dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Laputa. That did some damage!

Laputa on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Machida. Machida obviously looking to wear him down.
Machida walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Laputa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Machida lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Laputa closes the distance but Machida moves to the side
and Machida counters with a thumping low kick.

Laputa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Machida can pounce on him.
Machida lands a big head kick that sends Laputa to the canvas! Machida follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Renzo Machida!
A relieved looking Renzo Machida thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
