And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crixus Pais!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pais throws out a loose jab but Singh uses good head movement to avoid it.
Singh misses with a hook to the body
and Pais counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Singh throws a lazy right hand but Pais sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Singh closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Singh throws a looping overhand right but Pais ducks down to avoid it.
Singh is looking to clinch but Pais is avoiding it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Singh's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Pais tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Singh smiles and moves away.

Singh wants to clinch up but Pais keeps it at a distance.

The fighters circling - Pais throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

A punch lands to the side of Pais 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Pais bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Singh's head backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fight stays on the outside here - Singh looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Pais has Singh pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Singh manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Sanjay Singh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Crixus Pais.

Singh is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Singh has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pais is working away from the top position though.
Pais seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Singh does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crixus Pais dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Singh connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pais momentarily.
Pais keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Singh.
Singh throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pais sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Singh throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Pais digs a good body shot into Singh's ribs.
Crixus Pais seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Pais moves out of range of the strikes.
A lazy left from Pais finds it's target.


It looks like Sanjay Singh has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pais looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Singh walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Pais looks to throw the jab but Singh is out of range.
Singh misses with a looping right.
Pais throws a jab but it's blocked by Singh.

and Pais counters with a right hand that sends Singh tumbling to the canvas! Can Pais finish him? He dives into Singh's guard looking to do just that!


Singh is rocked!

Pais is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Oh Singh is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Pais is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Singh seems to have got his legs back now.
Pais trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
