The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phays moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Phays.
Kim Phays seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sisyphus moves forwards but Phays connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Phays lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Phays connects with a leg kick. Sisyphus looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Phays swings for the body but Sisyphus moves out of range.
Phays throws a sloppy head kick and Sisyphus moves out of range easily.
Sisyphus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Phays.
Phays keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sisyphus.

Sisyphus drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sisyphus is fighting to break Phays's control of his arms but Phays is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Sisyphus drops back, looking for a kneebar! Phays looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Phays looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Phays!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kim Phays was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Sisyphus misses with a hook. Phays ducked under it nicely.
Phays lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Phays enables Sisyphus to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Phays manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Sisyphus drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Phays dives on top into guard.

Sisyphus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Phays doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Phays manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sisyphus can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Phays controls the pace.

Sisyphus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Phays gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Phays controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kim Phays hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sisyphus avoids the head kick by Phays.
Phays lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sisyphus at a distance.
Phays fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Phays scores with a head kick. Sisyphus tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim Phays dominated that round.
That's time! Sisyphus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Phays goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Phays staying out of range there.
Phays throws an overhand right that has Sisyphus reeling! Phays follows up with more punches and Sisyphus is out cold! This one is all over!
