Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Albert Tejada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and tj Wash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wash has chosen you dont know as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Albert Tejada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, tj Wash!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Wash. Tejada does a little dance to reset his feet.
tj Wash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tejada decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Wash wants to control but Tejada is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Tejada trying to control the action but Wash is working from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Wash shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tejada sprawls well. Tejada wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wash gets slowly back to his feet.
Wash wants to clinch up but Tejada keeps it at a distance.
Wash is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wash has a takedown stuffed.
Wash dives in and grabs Tejada's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tejada pushes down on Wash's head and hops out.

Wash moves into range and clinches up with Tejada.
Tejada misses with a hook from the clinch.
Tejada tries to land knees in the clinch but Wash avoids the damage to the body.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wash pulls Tejada in close to his closed guard and prevents Tejada from doing any damage or advancing position.

Wash is trying to control the position but Tejada postures up.
Wash looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tejada is one step ahead there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tejada fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wash pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Wash stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wash wants it to stay on the feet.
Wash is looking to clinch but Tejada is avoiding it.
Wash lands a jab-cross combination.
Wash fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tejada avoids it really well and circles away.
Wash fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Wash dives in and grabs Tejada's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tejada pushes down on Wash's head and hops out.

Wash shoots in looking for a takedown. Tejada tries to sprawl out of it but Wash keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tejada manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Wash gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Wash gets control of Tejada's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wash will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Albert Tejada.
Tejada takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Wash dives in and grabs Tejada's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tejada pushes down on Wash's head and hops out.
Tejada shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wash defends it nicely.

Wash shoots in looking for a takedown but Tejada manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wash's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Wash has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tejada can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

tj Wash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Tejada is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A nice left hand lands by Wash.
Tejada is working for takedown but Wash is calmly controlling the position for now.
Tejada tries to pull guard but Wash forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Wash is pressed up against the cage. Tejada has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wash down to the mat. Wash avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Tejada shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Wash fails in his attempt to clinch.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Tejada closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Albert Tejada overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wash is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Tejada is thwarting Wash's attempts to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Albert Tejada just wasn't active enough.
Wash throws a head kick that misses.
Wash shoots in for a takedown but Tejada shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Tejada changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wash tries to avoid it but Tejada manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wash to the ground. Wash escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Albert Tejada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wash avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Tejada.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Albert Tejada.
I think Wash has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

tj Wash tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
