Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Caius Lehtonen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Keanu Penn!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lehtonen rushes Penn and presses him up against the cage.
Penn misses with a knee to the head.
Penn throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lehtonen blocks it with crossed arms.
Penn scores with a knee to the head.
Penn throws a knee to the head but misses.
Lehtonen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Penn walks away with a smile on his face. Lehtonen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lehtonen gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lehtonen is working to tighten is grip on Penn's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Penn has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Lehtonen is really squeezing tight and eventually Penn passes out! Lehtonen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Caius Lehtonen!
