The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jeter shoots and misses

and Sailo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Jeter tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Sailo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jeter parries the strikes from Sailo easily there. Sailo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jeter to escape.

Sailo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jeter is just riding it out for now. Sailo eventually gives up the hold.

Sailo has his foot on Jeter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jeter works his way back into a safe position though.
Jeter with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Jeter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sailo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jeter has Sailo in his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jeter is on top in guard.

Jeter postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sailo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jeter, into his guard.

Jeter is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sailo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Jeter leaves Sailo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sailo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jeter's waist but Jeter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sailo off to one side.
