Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between DJ Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martinez comes to the cage accompanied by Burn. DJ Martinez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, DJ Martinez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice takedown defense from Martinez. No joy for Ellis on that attempt.
Ellis tries for a takedown but Martinez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Martinez stuffs the takedown.
DJ Martinez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dominic Ellis.
Martinez tries to clinch up but Ellis circles away and keeps his distance.
Ellis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Martinez jumps guard and drags Ellis to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Martinez is not content to let Ellis control the position.
Ellis working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Ellis uses his free foot to push down on Martinez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Martinez.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ellis cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ellis is landing with some decent strikes but Martinez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Martinez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
DJ Martinez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Martinez tries to bum rush Ellis with a series of wild strikes but Ellis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ellis paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ellis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Martinez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Martinez shoots in for a takedown but Ellis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ellis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
DJ Martinez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ellis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Martinez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Ellis lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Martinez down.
Ellis lands a nice forearm strike.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Ellis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Martinez did well to prevent Ellis getting side control.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dominic Ellis wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ellis shoots in looking for a takedown. Martinez tries to sprawl out of it but Ellis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Martinez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Martinez closes the distance and clinches up with Ellis, looking for a takedown. Martinez pushes Ellis against the cage but Ellis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Martinez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Martinez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ellis sprawls well. Ellis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Martinez gets slowly back to his feet.

I've got Ellis winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
