The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lizgo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fuller uses his free foot to push down on Lizgo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lizgo.

Fuller gets to his feet. Lizgo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Fuller fails with an attempt to clinch.

Lizgo closes the distance and clinches up with Fuller, looking for a takedown. Lizgo pushes Fuller against the cage but Fuller circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fuller swings for the body but Lizgo moves out of range.
No luck for Fuller with that takedown attempt.
Lizgo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fuller sprawls well. Fuller wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lizgo gets slowly back to his feet.
Lizgo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lizgo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fuller tries to avoid it but Lizgo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fuller to the ground. Fuller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Eric Fuller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Basi Lizgo.

Fuller drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lizgo prevents Fuller from improving position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fuller remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
